It's hits our screens. Time to share any thoughts or feelings on what we are seeing and how much you're enjoying it.

NOTE - This thread for people who HAVE seen it or are watching it live.

    Enjoy one ✌️

    Looking forward to this :-)

Rusty Kryten is an interesting take.

The whole sex change thing was a little reminiscent of the series X pattern of early scenes that were never quite funny enough but the Rimmer and Kryten exchanges were fun and the giant disc while preposterous had a good early series vibe.

    A few chuckles so far.

How surreal to have watched this much Red Dwarf and still see 63 minutes remaining at the ad break! :-)

So far so good, fast moving nothing really poor so far, poor rimmer looking in a bad way, no idea how the story is going to turn for the guys, 45 minutes to go, meeeeawwwwl bring it on

Ok 30 mins to go, add break, Holly is reloading backup, Holly to the rescue?
Its flew in and only 25 mins or so left.

Last 15 mins, nice callback to backwards when he went for a dump, also wondered why Rodon sounded like Cat, now we know,
Is this Anubus stone gonna save them? Is Holly going to pull something special, is Ace rimmer going to coje to help?

The highlight for me has been the black and white Rimmer (as he was originally intended to be), which should tell you how unimpressed I have been so far.

Really enjoying this so far. There are so many ideas going on and for once it feels like they have the space to breathe.

The existential Rimmer stuff is wonderful debate topic fodder and, I presume, will actually have the time to pay off.

I really feel that this format is the future of the show.

Ha, well it's a good job this is on Dave and not the Beeb. If so this special would end with the revelation that the opposite crew in Parallel Universe are actually the real, original Red Dwarf characters and if it wasn't for them we wouldn't have the Cat, Kryten, Lister and Rimmer versions we've had and loved for the last 30 odd years...

I don't know. I've noticed everyone else seems to be loving it though. Perhaps I'm just not in the right frame of mind for this special.

Sorry to hear that. I've really enjoyed it so far...bar the now typical cringey first scene (with the main cast) that has become a common thing in the Dave era.

So far, for me, it's had a good mix of action, pathos and comedy. Some of the jokes are a bit recycled (Kryten's head shape) but I've probably enjoyed it more than anything Dave other than Give and Take.

Watching it live at the moment, I'm pretty amazed. The old series (1-9) were the best IMO, the new ones (10-12) were not as good as the old ones. I'm over halfway part 2 now and I'm loving every minute.
The scene where the crew are trying to tell the other cats that Dave is not what they believe he is was Hilarious, especially when the cat himself went in. I'm loving this every minute!

Especially as he IS everything they believe he is

Agreed, though as they're paying for this, I'll live with it.
